Dubai is once again redefining luxury and wellness with Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky, set to become the world’s tallest wellbeing resort. Approved in 2025 and beginning construction in 2026, the AED 2 billion ($545 million) vertical oasis will rise in Zabeel Park, across from the Dubai Frame, with completion expected by 2028.
Architectural Vision
Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), the firm behind New York’s High Line, Therme Dubai stretches 100 metres and spans 500,000 square feet. The “Islands in the Sky” concept features stacked botanical platforms with waterfalls and pools, creating a vertical sanctuary capable of welcoming 1.7 million visitors annually.
Three Immersive Zones
The resort offers three interactive zones for a complete wellbeing experience. The Play Zone is a family-friendly area with 15 water slides, a wave pool, and interactive art installations. The Relax Zone provides adult-focused thermal pools, mineral baths, and lush botanical gardens. The Restore Zone offers advanced wellness therapies including cultural sauna rituals, steam rooms, oxygen therapy, and red-light treatment.
Main Attractions and Facilities
Highlights include the world’s largest indoor botanical garden with over 200 plant species, three 18-metre cascading waterfalls, a cultural hub for concerts and art exhibitions, and dining options ranging from a Michelin-starred restaurant to vitamin bars focused on nutritional wellbeing.
Sustainability and Technology
Therme Dubai aligns with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan and Quality of Life Strategy 2033. Up to 90% of thermal pool water will be recycled, 80% of air and cooling systems will rely on renewable energy, and AI-powered health consultations provide personalized wellness guidance.
